Over the last two weeks, I had the immensely enjoyable experience of working with the Launchpad group of female career returners at the Ludgate Hub in Skibbereen. We focused on CV and Interview Success. It was a joy to witness a group of women coming together and identifying an array of valuable personal strengths and transferable skills that they can bring to the workplace. These women support and encourage each other in a way that is inspiring to witness.
Feedback from employers who have hired career returners has been extremely positive, with comments such as, ‘People that we have hired from returner programs have so much to offer in terms of life and work experience. They are resilient, mature, bring new perspectives and ideas, remain calm under pressure, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and are very supportive of their colleagues. Our managers want to hire more career returners!’
